Our Program
The Gulf Coast Rehab program enlists the
help of licensed counselors, 12 step program guidelines and
individualized treatment plans in order to offer the best
possible substance abuse services. The detox is the first
step towards physical sobriety, and although Gulf Coast Rehab
does not have medical detox facilities onsite, it does have
close co-provider relationships with detox centers in the
area.
Once a person has undergone the detoxification
process, Gulf Coast Rehab's specialists interview each patient
individually to find out more about their history and specific
circumstances. The intake process helps us understand more
about the individual, and it also helps the individual do
some self-reflection and helps to slowly produce more mental
clarity.
After the initial intake process has been
completed, a treatment plan is created to deal with issues
and problems related to the individual's background and drug
of choice. During this process the patient will participate
in individual therapy, group counseling and other sobriety-related
activities. If a person has family issues, or issues involving
spouses or other loved ones, the Gulf Coast Rehab program
also has the resources which with to deal with these issues.
Individuals new in recovery will usually
have all the knowledge and resources that they need to stay
sober within the first few weeks of treatment, however it
is hard to apply what is learned in treatment to the outside
world. For this reason, Gulf Coast Rehab has taken special
care in designing its aftercare program, which helps patients
with the transition back to normal life. During this phase
it is suggested that individuals create a support system outside
of the treatment facility and get connected with other sober
people with knowledge about and a desire for recovery.
By taking these steps individuals are placing
insurance on a still fragile possession: sobriety. When individuals
have completed their treatment goals and feel confident that
they will succeed in recovery then they leave the facility,
but are still welcome to keep in contact with their counselors
and other Gulf Coast staff.
